Piano
Mélanie Adler
Born in London and raised in France from childhood, Mélanie Adler discovered the piano at the age of seven — a passion that never left her. After training at the Tarbes Conservatoire under Jean-Paul Cristille, she was admitted on scholarship to the Trinity College of Music, London, where she earned her Bachelor of Music with Honours after four years in Hilary Coates’s class.
She has refined her artistry through masterclasses with Anne Queffélec, Mauro Landi and Jakob Fichert, and performs in France and the United Kingdom — as soloist, accompanist and chamber musician. Her feeling for the French and Impressionist repertoire (Fauré, Debussy, Ravel) now runs through the whole of the duo’s musical world. She also teaches piano in Montauban.
Trumpet
Laurent Jammes
Laurent Jammes began the trumpet at the age of seven in the Midi-Pyrénées. Trained at the Toulouse Conservatoire (CRR) in Paul Millischer’s class, he was awarded, in 2001, a unanimous First Prize in trumpet and chamber music, along with his Diplôme d’Études Musicales.
A professional musician for over twenty years, he has given more than 400 concerts in France and across Europe, including eight years with the Pistons Flingueurs. Since 2007 he has been principal trumpet of the Music des Parachutistes, a professional orchestra of the French Army, and in 2011 he co-founded the Brass Band Occitania, of which he is president and principal cornet. A lifelong Toulouse native, he also shares his expertise as a trumpet teacher and photographer.
